WSAS received $100k in funding from the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) to support the planning of a science policy fellowship program in Washington state. Over the next year, WSAS will work collaboratively with legislators and other stakeholders to design a nonpartisan fellowship program that meets the needs of legislators in Washington state.

WSAS selects 11 students to serve as WA State delegates at the American Junior Academy of Science

These eleven students, WSAS’ largest delegation ever, were selected based on original STEM research they conducted while in high school. The American Junior Academy of Science (AJAS) is a honorific society, the only one of its kind in the U.S., that both celebrates student success and encourages talented, emerging scientists to pursue careers in STEM fields.
