WSAS Project

WSAS activities in response to COVID-19

Overview

A committee comprised of WSAS members was convened to assist WSAS in identifying actions, both near-term and long-term, that would help the state address challenges resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. The committee engaged leaders at the local, state and federal level – including Governor Inslee’s Policy Office, the state Director of Agriculture and staff at the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine – to better understand their scientific and technical needs related to COVID-19. WSAS also participated in discussions convened by Challenge Seattle, an alliance led by former Governor Christine Gregoire to coordinate a COVID-19 response in the business sector.
