Subject: New WSAS Officer and Board Members Elected
The Washington State Academy of Sciences (WSAS) is pleased to announce one new Officer and five new Board Members who were elected by the WSAS Membership in June 2020. WSAS Members elected a Treasurer who will serve a two-year term and five Directors who will serve three-year terms. The WSAS Board is responsible for the governance of the Academy in support of its mission “science in the service of Washington State.”
The elected Officers and Board Members will begin their terms at the conclusion of the Annual Members’ Meeting on September 10, 2020.
New Officers & Board Members elected by the WSAS membership:
Treasurer – Allison Campbell, Associate Laboratory Director for Coastal and Marine Science Strategy, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory
Dr. Campbell has been elected to serve her first term as Treasurer of the Board of Directors and chair of the Finance Committee. She was elected to WSAS in 2013.
Board Member – Ann Bostrom, Weyerhaeuser Endowed Professor in Environmental Policy, University of Washington
Dr. Bostrom has been elected to her first term on the Board. She was elected to WSAS in 2014.
Board Member – Howard Frumkin, Professor Emeritus, School of Public Health, University of Washington
Dr. Frumkin has been elected to his first term on the Board. He was elected to WSAS in 2017.
Board Member – Patricia Hunt, Meyer Distinguished Professor, Washington State University
Dr. Hunt has been elected to her first term on the Board. She was elected to WSAS in 2015.
Board Member – Lee Huntsman, President Emeritus, University of Washington
Dr. Huntsman has been elected to his first term on the Board. He was elected to WSAS in 2011.
Board Member – Ruby Leung, Battelle Fellow, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory
Dr. Leung has been elected to her first term on the Board. She was elected to WSAS in 2013.
