This report provides a review of existing evidence about pinniped and salmonid populations in the Salish Sea, pinniped predation on salmonids, and the impacts of pinniped predation on salmon recovery.

This summary captures the many diverse scientific discussions that occurred at a workshop convened by the Academy as part of its work to assist the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) in updating and reviewing the science that can inform hatchery reform as part of WDFW's Hatchery and Fishery Reform Policy Review Process.
