The Washington State Academy of Sciences (WSAS) today announced the election of 13 new members in recognition of their outstanding record of scientific achievement and willingness to work on behalf of the Academy in bringing the best available science to bear on issues within the state of Washington.

The Washington State Department of Agriculture–Natural Resources Assessment Section asked the WSAS to review the science supporting the methodologies and interpretation of the results of its study of the 2015 drought on Washington agriculture.
